Less than twelve months on from the release of their critically acclaimed second album In Loving Memory, The Paper Scissors return with FREE EP.

The EP will also be released with accompanying music videos by Sydney based artists Nelson Alves, Daniel Green, Chloe Hughes and Province that range from kittens and karaoke to slow-motion sports.

The band received some amazing love for ‘In Loving Memory’ released in 2011. The album debuted at 133 in the CMJ chart, amongst consistent play on taste-making radio stations internationally, including KCRW and Sydney’s own FBi.

Free picks up where ‘In Loving Memory’ left off, pushing forward into futuristic, indie-soul, continuing the band’s dedication to DIY production and home recording, completely disregarding the flavour of the month or the ‘now’ in indie music, instead giving nods to UK Bass Music, Psychedelic Funk and Twin Peaks.

The best part is that the EP is absolutely free, you could call it the FREE P, or just FREE, or you could just download the shit out of it from May 21.

We are very pleased to say that we are playing Fbi Social’s First Birthday. With venue closures as common as Thai restaurants opening on King St, Sydney is a hard place to run a venue, so it’s great that Fbi radio and the Kings Cross Hotel turned this ‘pop up’ into a regular venue. We will be playing with Pluto Jonze, Toucan and Swimwear- which is Tim Derricourt from Dappled Cities’ side project.

Someone told us the other day that FBi Radio played our song ‘We Don’t Walk’ as their ‘classic track’. The track was on our debut EP (see cover below) which came out in 2006. That’s last millennium people, a while back now.
